Bio

Cassis was formed in 2011 by vocalist Véronique Ramén and guitarist Jon Edwards. Initially an acoustic duo with roots in French speak-sing songs, the band transitioned to electric with the addition of drummer Warren Hall, bassist Seb Davidson and Keyboardist Tim Newhouse (previously Dylan Hooper).

Cassis has a unique sound in the Australian music scene particularly in Perth, Western Australia with their distinct speak-sing French English vocals and rich and diverse genre.

 

Cassis stands out for their unique blend of drenched funk synthesizer riffage, eclectic art pop rock rhythms and art-club sounds driven by French poetica speak-sing vocals.

 

In 2021, Cassis released their debut album “Soul-Sterious” and the EP “Ecstasy”.

Their latest Album “Riding on Clouds” released in 2025 continues the band’s sonic journey, crafting music that moves both heart and mind.
